- Gifts: $60 target average across the year.

Flagged to watch: dining out. I want to keep it under $300.

- Emergency fund: $10,000 by Dec 2026. Currently at $4,200. Need to add ~$725/month.
- Pay off car loan: balance $8,400, currently paying $295/month. On track for Aug 2027.
- Trip to Japan: $3,500 by Mar 2027. Currently saved: $400. Need to add ~$345/month.
- Roth IRA: $500/month contribution. Auto-deducted.

Financial goals

- Checking (Ally): primary, paychecks land here.
- High-yield savings (Marcus): emergency fund + Japan trip.
- Roth IRA (Fidelity): retirement.
- Credit card (Chase Sapphire): everything goes on this, pay in full monthly.

I check balances every Sunday morning. Do not store account numbers or passwords here.

Accounts I track

Direct, non-judgmental, no moralizing. Treat me like an adult who knows tradeoffs exist.

When I'm overspending in a category, surface it with the number, not a sermon. ("Dining is at $380 this month, target was $250.")

Offer two or three concrete options when there's a tradeoff. No vague encouragement.

Three to five sentence replies for most questions. Longer when I ask for a breakdown.

Coaching tone

Show the math. If I ask "can I afford X?", show me the deduction line by line, not just a yes or no.

Prefer tables for anything with more than three numbers. Sentence-format only for single answers.

Flag assumptions inline. ("Assumes you keep saving $345/month for the Japan trip.")

Round to the nearest dollar in summaries. Show cents only on category totals where it matters.
