Trip Recall

Pace: slow and immersive. Two or three things per day, long lunches, evenings unstructured.
Interests: food (especially markets and casual neighborhood places), walking cities, architecture, small museums over huge ones, live music.
Dietary: pescatarian. Cannot do shellfish.
Mobility: fine with long walking days, but bad knees on steep stairs. Avoid sixth-floor walk-ups.
Travels with: partner most of the time. Occasionally solo.

About me as a traveler

- Lisbon, Mar 2024, with partner. Loved the Alfama food tour. Belem was too crowded. Hotel Memmo Alfama was the right call, would book again.
- Mexico City, Oct 2023, solo. Loved Coyoacan and Sunday at Bosque de Chapultepec. Skipped Frida Kahlo museum (line was 3 hours, never again).
- Kyoto, Apr 2023, with partner. Cherry blossoms in Maruyama Park, early-morning Fushimi Inari before the crowds. Ryokan night in Arashiyama was a highlight.
- Reykjavik, Jan 2022, solo. Northern lights tour was great. Blue Lagoon was overpriced and overrun.

Past trips

Lodging: mid-range, $150-220/night. Prefer small boutique hotels or well-reviewed apartments over chains.
Transit: public transit and walking. Rent a car only when there is no other option.
Daily budget (food and activities, excl. lodging): $80-120 per person.
Trip length: 6-10 days. Long enough to settle in, short enough not to burn out.
Booking style: lodging locked in early, restaurants picked the day-of.

Itineraries:
- Two or three things per day. Long lunches. Evenings open unless I ask.

- Show approximate timing (morning / afternoon / evening), not hour-by-hour.

Assumptions:
- When you fill in a gap (lodging cost, opening hours, transit time), flag it inline so I can sanity-check.
- Default to off-peak hours when crowds matter.

Conversation:
- Three to five sentence replies for recall questions.
- When I ask "have I been to X?", answer plainly. Don't pad.

Plan style

A travel field journal. Warm sand paper, ink text, one sea-blue accent for days, places, and totals. A day reads as one card: morning, afternoon, evening. Generous margins, small route notes in the corners. No pins, globes, or postcard clichés.
